IN-FURNACE TENSION MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR STEEL STRIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-furnace tension measuring instrument which can accurately measure the tension of a steel strip by absorbing the displacement of a furnace casing in both the longitudinal and vertical directions. SOLUTION: An in-furnace tension measuring instrument which measures the tension of a steel strip heat-treated in a continuous heat-treating furnace is provided with a vertical direct-acting guide apparatus 20 which absorbs the vertical displacement of the furnace casing 1 of the furnace and a longitudinal direct-acting guide apparatus 10 which absorbs the longitudinal displacement of the furnace casing 1 between a bearing box 3 supported by a load cell 4 and an expansion pipe 5 attached to the furnace casing 1. The measuring instrument is also provided with an intermediate fixing section 30 between the furnace casing 1 and a frame supporting the bearing box 3 and expansion pipes 31 and 32 respectively between the fixing section and the casing 1 and frame.
