PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a negative type image recording material capable of direct plate making from digital data using IR laser, having high sensitivity to laser light and excellent in ink receptivity. SOLUTION: A 1st layer containing a compound which generates an acid under light or heat and a compound which is crosslinked by the generated acid and lowering its alkali solubility by the crosslinking and a 2nd layer containing a compound which generates an acid under light or heat and a compound which is decomposed by the acid to generate a new acid and capable of propagating the generated new acid are successively disposed on a substrate to obtain the objective image recording material. An IR absorber is preferably contained in the 1st layer and/or the 2nd layer from the viewpoint of the enhancement of sensitivity. |
