PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily inspect the airtightness of only a pipe joint part of a specific location. SOLUTION: A closed space 20 is formed in the periphery of a pipe joint part 18 by a closed space forming member 22, and a pump 24 and pressure gage 26 are connected to the closed space 20. Then the closed space 20 is pressurized or decompressed to a predetermined pressure by the pump 24 and left alone. After a predetermined time has elapsed, the pressure of the closed space 20 is measured by the pressure gage 26 to detect pressure changes in the closed space 20. In the case of the occurrence of a pressure change, it is determined that there is an airtightness failure i.e., joint failure.
