摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable and stable object tracking method for detecting and tracking accurately an object despite the large change of direction of the object by correcting the position of a partial image detected via the edge detection into a detecting position where the current time of the object is detected and updating the partial image of the corrected position as a new template. SOLUTION: The template matching processing is carried out between a template image of a stored time and an input image (103). When the highest matching degree is larger than the prescribed value (104), the edge processing of the input image is carried out about the template image having the highest matching degree and the position of an object is corrected according to an obtained edge image (105). The position of the object having its corrected position is updated as a new template image (106). That is, a detecting position is corrected into a position where the highest edge density is secured and accordingly the position of a template is never shifted from the object even though the object changes its direction.
