PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire high performance and stable superconducting dipole magnet by using a fiber reinforced composite material, having a thermal expansion coefficient in the arc direction of a specific value or less, as a spacer in a gap between aggregates. SOLUTION: A composite having a thermal expansion coefficient of 1.1×10-6 or less in manufactured. The coefficient is preferably zero or smaller. Coefficient larger than 1.1×10-6 is undesirable, since fixing performance of a superconducting wire is lowered and tends to cause quenching. The composite material is used as a spacer 1. The spacer 1 can be used for connecting a superconducting wire 2 and the spacer 1 directly or via an adhesive. The spacer 1 are arranged with their thermal expansion coefficient of 1.1×10-6 or smaller in gaps, where an aggregate 4 of a plural bundle of superconductive wires are arranged in a circumference direction seen from a section of cylindrical superconducting dipole magnet. The spacer 1 are arranged, so that the aggregate 4 of the bundled superconducting wires are fixed strongly at a low temperature as the spacer 1 expand. |
