SOLUTION: A two-stage cycle has a hydrogen driverαfor moving a hydrogen from a high-temperature alloy to a low-temperature alloy, a front-stage cold heat output unitβfor moving the hydrogen from the low-temperature alloy to an intermediatetemperature alloy, and a rear-stage cold heat output unitγfor moving the hydrogen from the intermediate-temperature alloy to the high-temperature alloy. A laminate group G is partitioned to four groupsαG1 toαG4,βG1 toβG4, andγG1 toγG4. A heat exchanger is provided to supply a heating medium in series to the first to fourth groups G. Thus, even when a time is elapsed after heat exchanging is started, a temperature difference between a temperature of the medium for heat exchanging the alloy of a certain first chamber and a temperature of the medium for heat exchanging the alloy of another second chamber is large, and a hydrogen moving speed is not decelerated.
