STRUCTURE OF OIL SUCTION PIPE IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely avoid getting oil suction impossible by providing a strength weakening part so as to bend an oil suction pipe in a part lower than an oil surface in operation within an oil pan of the oil suction pipe. SOLUTION: An oil suction pipe 4 is mounted so that a base end may be connected to the suction side of an oil pump by fastening of each bolt 5 and is extended in the lower direction from the mounting part. A suction port 4a at the lower end is located at a portion adjacent to an inner bottom surface in a deepest part of an oil pan 3. In a part which is further lower by a proper height than an oil surface 7 in operation which is properly lower than an oil surface 6 during a stop of the operation within the oil pan 3 of the oil suction pipe 4, an annular notch 8a as a strength weakening part is formed so as to surround the oil suction pipe 4. By this constitution, the oil suction pipe 4 always bends at the annular notch 8a when the oil pan 3 is deformed due to a collision against a road surface during traveling of a vehicle.
