PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing the shape of a wood after deformation and also increasing its strength by consolitation while keeping its intrinsic useful properties and further a device therefor. SOLUTION: A wood containing moisture (the moisture content: 20% or higher) is correctively fixed and is heated so that the interior of the wood up to 60-100 deg.C to be plasticized. Then the wood is naturally cooled in such a state that it is fixed or consolidated to increase its strength, and further, is cured to complete a primary treating process. After that, the wood obtained through this primary treating process is reheated while moisture is given, in a correctively fixed state so that the internal temperature of the wood reaches 60-100 deg.C. A secondary treating process is to naturally cool the wood in the correctively fixed state.
