PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a negative type image recording material capable of direct plate making from digital data using IR laser and excellent in printing resistance in printing and the adhesion of the recording layer to the substrate. SOLUTION: A 1st layer containing a compound which generates an acid under light or heat and a compound which is decomposed by the acid to generate a new acid and capable of propagating the generated new acid and a 2nd layer containing a compound which generates an acid under light or heat and a compound which is crosslinked by the generated acid and lowering its alkali solubility by the crosslinking are successively disposed on a substrate to obtain the objective image recording material. An IR absorber is preferably contained in the 1st layer and/or the 2nd layer from the viewpoint of the enhancement of sensitivity. |
