PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the spread of a fire when a fire occurs in an elevator suspension state with an opened door by providing a door control means for closing a door when a signal of a fire sensor disposed in a building is inputted in the suspension state with the opened door. SOLUTION: When a building manager makes an elevator into a suspension state at a topmost floor, a parking switch disposed within a car is operated by a key, a contact 3A is opened and a parking command relay 4 is energized. A timer T is energized, a contact Tb is opened after set time (30 seconds, for instance) elapses and thereby lighting systems 17A to 17N are turned off. When a fire occurs within a building and the fire sensor is operated in the suspension state, a fire detection relay 11 is de-energized, a thyristor 13 is ignited, a door motor M is rotated in an opening direction and a car door kept opened till then is closed. As a result, the spread of a fire through the elevator is prevented.
