PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever-fitting type connector capable of ensuring connector connection by enabling a fulcrum to be formed by an engagement projection on the lever side surely engaging with the hood side of a mating connector when a lever is turningly operated. SOLUTION: In this lever-fitting type connector, a lower edge 30B of a taper surface of an engagement projection 30 forms a corner part made by side wall surfaces crossing each other at an obtuse angle, and the corner part engages with an engagement step part 37 formed in an inner wall of a hood part and situated in the interior of an insertion groove 36. The engagement step part 37 forms a slope inclined at an angleαof 45 deg. or more relative to the fitting direction of connectors, and an upper edge 37A of the slope and the lower edge 30B of the taper surface of the engagement projection 30 are set to keep a fixed distance D between them in the fitting direction of the connectors. By setting the lower edge 30B of the taper surface to be spaced apart from the upper edge 37A of the slope in the interior of the insertion groove 36, the engagement projection 30 can be surely engaged with the engagement step part 37 if the sizes of the connectors have some error. Therefore, the connectors can be surely connected to each other.
