PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granular detergent composition that shows markedly high dissolution rate in a unit time, when the composition is dispersed into individual constituting particles in water, and also shows excellent dissolution behavior, even after the constituting particles aggregate into hydrated coagulation (paste). SOLUTION: The objective granular detergent composition comprises 5-45 wt.% of surfactant, 15-95 wt.% of water-soluble substance, and 0-50 wt.% of water-insoluble substance and has the average particle size of 150-500μm, the bulk density of 500-1,000 g/L. Further, the granular detergent composition shows >=90% dissolution rate, when the composition is charged in water at 5 deg.C, they are stirred for 60 seconds and subjected to the standard sieve (sieve opening: 74μm) according to JIS Z8801. In addition, when it is subjected to the paste solubility measurement, the time needed until the change rate of the electroconductivity in the bath reaches 50-80% is within 300 seconds.
