PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cordless telephone set that guide a user to a correct operation through the output of a correct operation guidance in the case that the user makes an operation error during an on-hook holding and that brings the processing executed by the guided operation to a result expected by the user at all times. SOLUTION: A master set 10 reaches a state of on-hook holding by making a holding operation after a hand-free operation or hooking off a handset after the holding operation. A microcomputer 24 monitors the operation conducted next in this state and controls a voice synthesis ROM 20 to provide the output of a voice message such as 'Please hold up the handset!' denoting a correct operation to a speech network 18 if a user makes an operation error such as a holding operation. Since a switch 25 is connected to the speech network 18 in the on-hook holding state and a speaker 28 sounds a voice sound such as 'Please hold up the handset!', the user is guided to the correct operation.
