PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catheter and a guide wire which are capable of safely and surely shutting off blood flow, etc., and are adequate for carrying out embolus therapy, contrast inspection of blood vessels, etc. SOLUTION: The catheter having a catheter body 1 and an outer polymer layer 8 for coating the outer peripheral surface of this catheter body 1 is constituting by projecting the outer polymer layer 8 toward the front side and providing the front end of the catheter body 1 with an injection member pierced with an injection hole 15. The outer polymer layer 8 is so formed that its front projecting part 8a can be bulged in a diametral direction by injecting and filling an injection material, such as a physiological salt solution, embolus agent or contrast medium, between the injection member and the front projecting part of the outer polymer layer 8 through the injection hole 15. |
