PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a glass seal of a sealing terminal due to generation of partial discharge on the inside of a compressor by providing a detector for detecting as discharge phenomenon within a sealing container and stopping energizing to windings of an electric motor when the discharge phenomenon is detected by the detecting device. SOLUTION: When worn powder generated by wear of a sliding surface in a compressing mechanism part 12 within a compressor 1 is mixed into refrigerant gas discharged from the compressing mechanism part 12, is carried and is stuck to a glass seal surface on the inside of a sealing terminal 21, at the time of operating a freezing device, a partial discharge is generated along the glass seal surface between a pin to be a charging part of the sealing terminal 21 and a sealing terminal main body to be grounding potential. A detecting device 50 detecting the partial discharge is provided on the inside (or an outside surface) of a sealing container 15 and controls to stop energization to windings of an electric motor 11 when partial discharge is detected. As a result, glass seal of the sealing terminal 21 is prevented from being broken and leakage of refrigerant gas due to seal breakage is prevented.
