PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium capable of judging whether or not a video object recorded in DVD-RAM can be after-recorded, and to provide a recorder and a recording method for the recording medium. SOLUTION: A DVD-RAM stores audio attribute information (A-ATRO/1) containing bit rate information (bit rate) as management information of a recorded audio stream. Two audio streams are recorded in the DVD-RAM and they have the same attribute, and in the case of after-recording, data are recorded to one of the audio streams. The DVD recorder refers to the pit rate information on the audio attribute information at the time of after-recording to the DVD-RAM, and is provided with an after-recording pre-check part for checking the possibility of the after-recording operation of the DVD recorder to the audio stream.
