PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side airbag device that can be installed at the prescribed position without being damaged of its appearance and further that can be unfolded in a short time. SOLUTION: In a side airbag device in which an airbag main body 1 that is composed of an inflator 7 which spouts gas by sensing a shock in a collision and an airbag 10 which swells and expands by the gas spouting from the inflator 7 are housed in a housing case 2 mounted at a side frame 3b of a seat 3, the housing case 2 is composed of a body side cover 4 formed by a rigid material and a seat side cover 5 formed by a soft sheet material, and further, the airbag main body 1 is housed in these body side cover 4 and seat side cover 5, so, since a part of the housing case 2 is formed by the body side cover 4 made of the rigid material, the shape is stable and, an outward appearance is not marred either. |
