PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the on-line cost and the burden of a host computer and to configure a more inexpensive transaction system using an IC card by setting again an off-line transaction limit of the IC card only when the cumulative value of specific transactions to the off-line transaction limit has a rate larger than its threshold. SOLUTION: A specific TCC table contains the specific transaction codes such as 'C', 'Z' and 'O' for deciding whether a check applying on-line processing is needed and then is stored in a nonvolatile memory of an IC card. The coefficient of the TCC table is defined by dividing the cumulative recording frequency of specific transactions by the continuous off-line transaction limit frequency. When the specific transaction frequency to the continuous off-line transaction limit frequency has a rate larger than the table coefficient, this transaction limit frequency is updated according to its increment and decrement value. In other words, the continuous off-line frequency is calculated and updated by the IC card itself.
|
