PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely compute a target EGR amount including a transition for an engine provided with a variable capacity turbo supercharger. SOLUTION: An EGR valve 61 capable of controlling an EGR amount is provided. Herein, the operating conditions of an engine is detected by a detecting means 62 and a target EGR rate is computed in accordance with the detection value for the operating conditions by a computing means 63. An EGR amount is set in accordance with the target EGR rate and the detection value for the operating conditions by a setting means 64 and an EGR flow speed is computed in accordance with the target EGR amount and the target EGR rate by a computing means 65. The opening area of the EGR valve 61 is computed from the EGR flow speed and the target EGR amount by a computing means 66 so that the EGR valve 61 can be controlled to have the EGR valve opening area by a control means 67. |
