PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting method for the prostate cancer of a human male patient, in which a normal state or a benign prostate disease such as benign prostatomegaly (BPH) or prostatitis can be discriminated from the prostate cancer. SOLUTION: This method is that which assists the detection of the prostate cancer of a human male patient. The method is composed of a process (a) in which the amount of a complex prostate specific antigen(cPSA) in a blood sample obtained from the patient is measured. The method is composed of a process (b) in which whether the concentration in the blood of the cPSA of the patient exceeds the upper limit of an abnormal value of about 2 to 4 ng/mL or not is judged. The method is composed of a process (c) in which, when the concentration in the blood of the cPAS of the patient exceeds the upper limit of the normal value, the amount of a total prostate specific antigen(tPSA) in the blood sample is measured and in which the ratio of the measured amount of the tPSA to the measured amount of the cPSA is decided. |
