PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy automatic adjustment of density change of each color due to elapse of time by printing R, G, B test patterns on a color printing paper, illuminating the test patterns, and measuring the reflected liquid amount by a single light receiving sensor for measuring the C, M, Y densities. SOLUTION: In adjusting the density in a device for printing a color image by developing an image of the color of each layer, using a color printing paper having C, M, Y layers, first, R, G, B test patterns are generated, and the R, G, B test patterns are printed on the color printing paper by a thermal head 36. Next, an M (magenta) fixing fluorescent lamp 44 having a line spectrum of each of R, G, B is lit for illuminating the R, G, B test patterns, and the reflected light amount thereof is measured by a home position sensor 40. Then, each density of C, M, Y is found based on the reflected light amount by a system controller 10 so as to find the density correction amount for having a target density. |
