A method for coating a silicone rubber keyboard comprises: (1) coating the silicone rubber keyboard with a layer of a primer comprising a silane compound having at least one functional group selected from sulphur, methacryloxy, amino and isocyanato; (2) curing the primer layer at 100-150 deg C; (3) coating the cured primer layer with a layer of polyurethane and (4) curing the polyurethane layer at 100-180 deg C. Preferably the primer used is an organofunctional silane polymer. The primer layer is cured e.g. for 5-15 minutes and the polyurethane layer is cured for 2-4 hours. |
