PURPOSE: A data communication unit of a mobile communication system equipped with a dedicated control channel is provided to transceive a packet traffic channel connection control message, a call control message of an upper layer, a message relating to a control signal between a base station and a mobile station efficiently by a dedicated control channel which can transceive a control signal between the base station and the mobile station. In addition, the data communication unit is provided to transmit a power control bit and short user data. CONSTITUTION: A control message buffer(511) temporarily stores a control message transmitted in case that the control message is transmitted through a dedicated control channel. A modem controller(513) reads the control message stored in the control message buffer(511) and analyzes a header of the control message. A CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) generator(515) adds a CRC to the control message outputted from the modem controller(513). A tale bit encoder(517) generates a tail bit necessary for terminating an error correction code. An encoder(519) inputs and encodes an output of the tail bit encoder(517). An interleaver(521) interleaves and outputs encoding control data outputted from the encoder(519). A signal mapping block(523) converts transmitted signals.
