PURPOSE: A computer controllable needle selecting device for a circular knitting machine is provided to be capable of knitting ribbed fabric or interlock fabric with a plate needle and a cylinder needle by selectively moving the plate needle using a needle selecting unit. CONSTITUTION: A computer controllable needle selecting unit(6) comprises a selecting unit(61) and a selecting jack(62). The selecting unit(61) comprises a plurality of needle selecting legs(611). The selecting jack(62) comprises a jack main body(622), which comprises a front coupling part(623) coupled to a plate needle(2), a rear guide butt(624) and a support but(621) between the front coupling part and the rear guide butt. A cap(7) for the pass of the needle selecting unit(6) is provided under a cover plate(5), and comprises a guide track(71) for moving the selecting jack(62) and an inclined return part(72) for returning the selecting jack(62) to the cap(7).
