TECHNOLOGY FOR CLEANING RIVER EQUIPPED WITH BIO CARRIER FILTER

PURPOSE: Provided is a technology for cleaning river equipped with a bio-carrier filter. The technology using a bio-carrier filter has problems such as the blockade and the deflection in the filter caused to the decrease of hydraulic retention time and contact time. Consequently, the efficiency for water treatment is suddenly low. So, the contact media of a contact-oxidation process demand of such follows: (i) the good adhesion and the large specific area of a bio-film; (ii) the high porosity and the low resistance of flow; and (iii) easy purchase and good construction. CONSTITUTION: The bio-carrier is packed with activated carbon and zeolite in capsules composed of porous plastics with the pores of 10-15 mesh. The ratio of packing for activated carbon is 70-95% and that of packing for zeolite is 5-30%. The process proceeds to the following parts: the installation of a reservoir (12); the screening (13) of river water (11) by using a pump or a force of nature; a first clarifier (14) for removing suspended solids; a contact oxidation tank (15) packed with fixed or fluidized media; the bio-carrier filter part (16) for eliminating fine suspended solids; a filter basin (17) planted with dropwort or hyacinths for treating remaining nitrogen and phosphorus; and an outflow tank (18) to flow into river.
