<p>An apparatus for aerating effluent with fine air bubbles has an air distributor, installed below the water surface, which has the form of a membrane-type air tube of elastic material held on its long edges by a support member, and connected at one end to an air feed pipe and closed at the other end, the underside of the tube being imperforate and the upper side having a large number of air outlet apertures. A membrane installed in the air tube and placed under the tension of an air cushion forms the lower boundary of an air channel connected to the air feed pipe.</p> |
