PURPOSE: A method for aligning a cartridge of an ink jet facsimile is provided so that quality of high speed bilateral printing can be improved by correcting distortion of characters or lines in a horizontal or vertical direction. CONSTITUTION: Firstly, a control unit confirms whether an ink cartridge is inserted into a facsimile(S100). When the ink cartridge is inserted, a test pattern is output to confirm a horizontal/vertical alignment state of the ink cartridge(S200). Here, a memory stores the previously-set test pattern data. Accordingly, the user can confirm the horizontal/vertical alignment state of the cartridge with naked eyes. When the test pattern is not normally output, a data value for normally horizontally/vertically aligning the cartridge is set up by using a special device. Here, the special device includes a number generating unit of a panel unit of the facsimile to input the data value. According to the data value, the test pattern is re-transmitted(S200). This procedure is repeated until the cartridge is normally horizontally/vertically aligned. In the high speed bilateral printing of the ink jet facsimile, distortion of characters or lines can be easily corrected in a horizontal or vertical direction. Moreover, screen quality of the high speed bilateral printing can be improved by employing an one pen ink cartridge.
