PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for securing electronic book are provided to prevent other persons from reading an electronic book using a personal information of a client by reading an electronic book in accordance with download the electronic book according as the pre-set information is identified with the hardware information in personal communicating unit of a client for reading the electronic book, the electronic list information and a personal information. CONSTITUTION: A personal communication unit(200) comprises a program executing unit, a hardware information storing unit, an electronic list storing unit and a personal information storing unit. A key signal output unit(100) outputs a key signal for downloading and reading an electronic book by an operation of a client. The personal communicating unit(200) receives a key signal from the key signal output unit(100) and outputs data for downloading the electronic book. A member database server(300) receives and stores a hardware information from the personal communicating unit(200). A web server(400) receives data, hardware information, an electronic list information and a personal information and outputs a corresponding control signal for downloading the electronic book from the personal communicating unit(200) and the member database server(300). A paying unit(500) receives a control signal outputted from the web server(400) and approves a paying in accordance with the web server(400). An electronic database server(600) receives a control signal outputted from the web server(400) and downloads the data to the personal communicating unit(200) and outputs an electronic book transmission list to the member database server(300).
