PURPOSE: A method of driving the liquid crystal display(LCD) panel and the back light is provided to improve the quality of displaying generating an exact output display right from the ON time of the panel, and control the ON time of the back light properly with a microcomputer employing a device detecting the operation-stabilizing signal of the ASIC(Application Specification IC) CONSTITUTION: In a method of driving the back light for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display), an ASIC(Application Specific IC)(22) signal drives the driver and turns on an LCD panel on the driving. An operation stabilizing detector(35) turns on a microcomputer(24) after judging stable of the ASIC(22) signal's operation. The turn-on of the microcomputer(24) turns on the back light inverter(23) and turns on later the light source of the back light(1). But, if the operation stabilizing detector(35) decides that the ASIC signal is not stable, the microcomputer (24) remains off until the signal becomes stable. Thus, unstable ASIC signals do not display abnormal data on the panel.
