PURPOSE: A method for correcting Chinese characters based on one by one comparison is provided to correct the characters quickly under the state that the full document of the characters is not seen, by enabling an erroneously inputted Chinese character to be inputted again with reference to the displayed original image of the characters. CONSTITUTION: The Chinese characters are scanned(11), and changed to original image data(12) and then stored in a memory(13). The components of the image of the Chinese character are segmented(14). The segmented image is converted to a bit map(15). If a target Chinese character is inputted(16) and a comparison menu is selected(17), the segmented image is checked while the index file with the character having the same code as the inputted character is generated(18). The text of the inputted character and the image of the original character are displayed(19). The original image corresponding to the erroneously inputted character is clicked(20,21).
