PURPOSE: Provided is an imperfect ellipse-shaped intracapsular ring of eye lens for operating a cataract, which can prevent the cataract from recurring after the operation of the cataract. CONSTITUTION: The intracapsular ring comprises a monofilament made of a biodegradable polymer containing 0.05-0.3 wt%(based on the total weight of the intracapsular ring) of an antimetabolite agent such as 5-fluorouracil, tirilazad mesylate, daunomycin, colchicine, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, cytosine, arabinoside, or mitomycin. The both ends of the monofilament are parted with each other, thereby which forms the imperfect elliptic shape.
