PURPOSE: An apparatus for inputting data in a computer is provided to write a character in foreign languages including English by easily changing a mode and an arrangement of a keyboard according to a user's choice, to input an accurate graphic such as a figure and a sign and to simultaneously input the character and graphic without an apparatus for inputting graphics by enabling a marking unit to provide an area for inputting the graphics. CONSTITUTION: A marking unit(4), a touch panel(6) and a keyboard mode selection switch unit(8) are connected and a control unit which controls the marking unit(10) is located inside of a frame(2). The marking unit(4) operates each element by the control unit(10) and displays the keyboard mode which a user selects. The marking unit(4) which has a primary function of displaying the mode is performed as a flat board marking element. The keyboard mode selection switch unit(8) equips a plurality of selection buttons to select the keyboard mode which the user wants. The switch unit(8) equips three selection modes(8a,8b,8c) which respectively indicate a standard mode, a southpaw mode, a graphic mode. The touch panel(6) is attached to the surface of the marking unit(4) and penetrates a display screen of the marking unit(4). In general, the touch panel(6) is attached to the surface of the display device. In case that the user pushes a specific part with a finger and a pen, a command which already is appointed is executed.
