PURPOSE: An exposing device for a color cathode-ray tube is provided to achieve a high resolution screen by irradiating the quantity of light evenly across the entire fluorescent surface. CONSTITUTION: An exposing filter(100) selectively transmits a light radiated from a light source. The exposing filter(100) has metal evaporation films(102) which are formed such that the thickness of the film is gradually reduced as it goes from the central portion of the filter to both end portions thereof. The filter also has a transmission part(103) besides the metal evaporation films, through which the light is totally transmitted. Also, the planar area of the metal evaporation film is gradually reduced with respect to that of the transmission part(103) as it goes from the central portion of the filter to both end portions thereof. The metal evaporation films are disposed symmetrically with respect to the center line of the filter.
