APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING COOLING VELOCITY

PURPOSE: A cooling velocity controller is provided to enhance the cooling velocity of a refrigeration compartment of a refrigerator and to shorten time required to keep the temperature of the refrigeration compartment regular by supplying cold air concentrically to a relevant position. CONSTITUTION: A cooling velocity controller is comprised of: plural, preferably four ducts(70a-d) connected with a discharge port of a refrigeration compartment fan(20) to supply cold air individually through both sides of a refrigeration compartment; temperature sensors(74a-d) mounted near each duct; a control unit for deciding the detected ambient temperature of each sensor; and a switch unit for opening/closing the front discharge end of each duct according to the decided signals of the control unit. The cooling velocity controller detects temperature difference of four parts centering on horizontal/vertical parts of the refrigeration compartment. The controller supplies a large amount of cold air concentrically to one of the parts having a high temperature. Therefore, the controller controls the cooling velocity depending on load changes.
