PURPOSE: A gate type metal detector is provided to exactly regulate a detect sensitivity, to calculate the number passing through a gate, and to reduce a wrong operation. CONSTITUTION: A gate type metal detector comprises a pulse generator(112) generating 60Hz pulse wave from an applied 60Hz sinusoidal wave; a one chip micro processor A(114) applying a specific frequency to a transmission coil(116) and outputting information on a pulse signal of an adjacent detector; a pulse decoder(126) decoding the pulse received in receiving coils(118,119) and outputting the pulse to the one chip microprocessor A; a one chip microprocessor B(124) controlling an alarm device according to a comparison result of a comparator(122) and the information on an adjacent detector pulse signal. Even though other metal detectors are near, a metal is detected regardless of the signals from the other detectors.
