PURPOSE: An electronic alarm for alerting an obstacle and controlling an overspeed is provided to alert to a driver by detecting the obstacle objectively and mechanically and control an overspeed automatically, thereby preventing a traffic accident beforehand. CONSTITUTION: In an electronic alarm for alerting an obstacle and controlling an overspeed, a circuit for detecting the obstacle and measuring the distance using an infrared ray and a circuit for calculating a stop distance in a travelling speed are provided. A risk of a collision is determined by using the obtained practical stop distance. An alarm having a stimulative sound is transferred to a driver depending the risk of the collision. A collision accident is prevented by controlling a power in case that the risk of the collision is extremely high. The electronic alarm using an infrared ray allows to detect an obstacle in night and alert to the driver.
