PURPOSE: A method for supplying a wide area paging service is provided to make a transmitting paging system process wide area calls by a satellite broadcasting system, not to use private lines connected between paging systems according to areas for wide area service supplying, so as to reduce a cost and communication traffic, and to make the transmitting paging system generate a wide area call by referring to previous information for the wide area paging service, which is registered in a corresponding paging system by a subscriber, so as to prevent the subscriber from separately changing areas whenever the subscriber moves an area. CONSTITUTION: Many paging systems register whether subscribers use wide area services, and register subscriber information including area information for receiving the wide area services, in databases(S301). A paging system delivering wide area calls for the wide area services adds a called subscriber's wide area service selection area information to a delivering wide area call, and delivers the wide area call to every paging system connected through satellite networks by broadcasting systems(S302). Every paging system receives the delivered wide area call, and decides whether the wide area call is capable of being serviced in self systems(S303). Only paging systems capable of servicing the wide area call deliver a call received through a local call processing. Paging systems incapable of servicing the wide area call delete the wide area call(S304). |
