PURPOSE: An image signal decoder is provided so that a user can watch TV signals or D-TV signals through a general A/V monitor or PC monitor by using a built-in format converter and a communication interface unit. CONSTITUTION: A key input unit(201) inputs a user command. According to the user command from the key input unit(201), a microcomputer(202) controls selection and processing of TV and D-TV broadcasting signals. A TV/D-TV tuner(203) receives an analog TV broadcasting signal and a digital TV broadcasting signal, and selects the broadcasting signal of a specific channel. An IF amplifying unit(204) amplifies an IF signal of the broadcasting signal selected in the TV/D-TV tuner(203). A DTV decoder unit(205) receives and decodes the D-TV IF signal. An input signal selecting unit(206) selects the decoded signal, external input video signal or TV signal. A TV IF processing unit(207) divides the TV IF signal into image and audio signals. An image signal processing unit(208) modulates the TV image IF signal. An audio signal processing unit(209) modulates the TV audio IF signal and the audio signal. An audio amplifying unit(210) amplifies the output signal from the audio signal processing unit(209). A speaker(211) outputs the amplified audio signal. An A/D converter(212) converts an external PC input signal into a digital signal. An output format converting unit(213) converts format of the signals. An output signal selecting unit(214) selects the output signal. An image signal output terminal(215) outputs the selected image signal. A communication bus buffer(216) is used for a communication bus interface of the microcomputer(202). As a result, the TV signals or D-TV signals can be displayed through the general A/V monitor or PC monitor. |
