PURPOSE: A device and a method are provided to prevent noise from being generated while operating a compressor. CONSTITUTION: A noise reducing device comprises a driving unit(20) supplying power to a compressor(10); a temperature sensor(30) detecting internal and external temperatures of the compressor; and a control unit(40) controlling RPM(revolution per minute) of a compressor motor for supplying sufficient amount of lubricating oil according to internal and external temperatures of the compressor. Therefore, RPM of the motor is controlled by adjusting power frequency according to internal and external temperatures of the compressor for supplying sufficient amount of lubricating oil. Thus, noise caused by operation of the compressor is prevented.
