PURPOSE: The power supply apparatus for a central processing unit(CPU) is provided to sequentially supply the DC power into the CPU while preventing unstable operating of the CPU. CONSTITUTION: A switching mode power supply(SMPS)(10) includes a transformer(12), rectifiers(14,16), DC-to-DC converters(18,20) and capacitors(C3,C4,C5). The rectifier(14), comprised of a diode(D1) and a capacitor(C1), changes the alternating current(AC) voltage from the transformer(12) to the DC power supply of 5V. The converter(18) changes the input voltage of 5V from the rectifiers(14) to the voltage of 3.3V. The rectifier(16) includes a diode(D2) and a capacitor(C2). The converter(20) changes the voltage inputted from the rectifier(16) to the voltage of 12V. A main board(30) includes a DC-to-DC converter(32), a capacitor(C6), a CPU(34) and a delay circuit(36).
