HANDOVER METHOD IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

PURPOSE: A handover method in mobile communication networks is provided to carry out an efficient handover in a state that the RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) values of an up link and a down link are below a threshold. CONSTITUTION: While carrying out a normal call with an MS(Mobile Station)(S1), a BS1(Base Station-1) judges whether the RSSI value of a receiving electric wave transmitted from the MS is below a threshold(S2). In case that the RSSI value is below a threshold, the BS1 finds out a neighboring BS2 recognizing the MS and detects the available resource information of the BS2(S3). At the same time, the BS1 receives the RSSI value of a BS1 transmitting electric wave transmitted from the MS and judges whether the RSSI value is below a threshold(S4). In case that the RSSI value is below the threshold, the BS1 judges whether the BS2 has available resources and the call of the MS can be ensured as the available resources(S5,S6). In case that the BS2 doesn't have any available resources and the call of the MS cannot be ensured as an available resource even though the BS2 have the resource, the BS1 releases call service with the MS(S7). If the BS2 has available resources and the call of the MS can be ensured as the available resources, the BS1 hands over the MS to the BS2(S8) and releases the connection with the MS(S9).
