PURPOSE: An apparatus and the method for processing information in a universal use in an information system are provided to increase the utilization of the system, and to reduce the cost for maintaining the system, by improving the functions for processing the information, and to increase the convenience of a user, by presenting a user interface that can be used regardless of a data type. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of databases(30) store the data generated during the work in a company. A user computer(10) used by a top manager or a worker is connected to the databases(30) via a data communication network(20). The user computer(10) includes a memory device(12), a control device(11) connected to the device(12), means(19) for defining the value necessary for analyzing information and a user interface(13) that inputs and outputs data. The user computer(10) further includes means(14) for extracting the data from the databases(30), means(16) for analyzing the extracted data and means(18) for editing the analyzed information.
