PURPOSE: A health food composition for articular rheumatism is provided to prevent destruction of cartilage and bone by mixing chitooligosaccharide containing glucosamine 5-80% and chondroitin sulfate. CONSTITUTION: The health food composition for articular rheumatism contains 5-90 weight parts of chitooligosaccharide having a glucosamine monomer content of 5-80% and 5-90 weight parts of chondroitin sulfate derived from shark cartilage or cow cartilage. The health food composition includes vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E, niacin amide, pantothenic acid, calcium, iron, zinc and selenium as supplementary substances. The composition is manufactured as a tablet, a capsule, a pill, a granular or liquid type. The liquid type of the composition has a natural flavor like Japanese apricot, lemon, pineapple and herb, a natural coloring matter like chlorophyllin and flavonoid, a sweetener like fructose, honey, sugar alcohol and sugar, or an acidic agent like citrate and sodium citrate. |
