METHOD OF HEAT-TREATING SEPARATOR PLATE FOR MOLTEN CARBONATE FUEL CELL

PURPOSE: A heat-treating method of a separator plate is provided to restore thermal deformation of the separator plate by the load of compressing plates by heat-treating the separator plate inserted between the compressing plates. CONSTITUTION: A separator plate(1) is closely inserted between compressing plates(101) made of carbon or stainless steel with a thickness of 5 to 10mm. The compressing plates(101) and the separator plate(1) are inputted into a heat treatment furnace as covered with a cover(102) made of carbon or stainless steel with a thickness of 1 to 5mm, and heated under hydrogen atmosphere. As the separator(1) is reduced in strength, and restored by load of the compressing plates(101). The cover(102) intercepts heat radiated from the separator plate(1) and the compressing plates(101) to decrease the heat gradient.
