PURPOSE: A multicolored backlight apparatus for mobile phones is provided to increase variety by making a user select the color of the liquid crystal display of his mobile phone. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting diode group(6) is arranged around a liquid crystal display(4) provided on the upper surface of a body(2). The diodes of the light emitting diode group(6) are aligned in order of red, green and blue so that a user can select arbitrarily a color of a light source by selectively emitting part of the light emitting diodes. Thereby, a light source having a specific color can be obtained through a selective mixture of red, green and blue and the setup of a light emitting ratio for mixture.
