KIMCHI REFRIGERATOR AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A Kimchi refrigerator and a method for controlling the refrigerator are provided to prevent overcooling of a store chamber caused by failure in control components and to easily recognize failure in the control components. CONSTITUTION: A Kimchi refrigerator contains a cabinet with store chambers and a compressor compressing refrigerant. Operation of the compressor is controlled to maintain temperature of the store chamber for an established temperature. Operation time of the compressor is counted. By the counted time over a reference time, the compressor is stopped and restarted. Herein, the compressor is operated and paused by using an established operation ratio while repeating the pause and the restart for over a specific time. Moreover, ratio of the operation time and the pause is 1:2-1:4.
