PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for vehicle-mounted satellite antenna are provided to receive a satellite signal and to track the satellite in accordance with the moving direction of a vehicle by an antenna mounted to the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: The vehicle-mounted satellite antenna comprises an antenna part(200), a satellite tracking signal generator, a rotating part, a rotary joint, and a control board. The antenna part is mounted to the vehicle and installed within the radome(100) and receives the satellite signal and converts it into an intermediate frequency. A satellite tracking signal generator generates the signal of a frequency band suitable for monitoring and tracking the satellite position. The control board generates the motor control signal by a satellite tracking signal. The rotating part rotates the antenna by motor control signal. The rotary joint supplies the power to the control board, the antenna part, the satellite tracking signal generator, the rotating part and generates the broadcasting signal received from the satellite tracking signal generator.
