PURPOSE: A food temperature detecting method is provided to improve cooking by measuring the temperature of food in a gas oven precisely regardless of the temperature of the gas oven. CONSTITUTION: A control unit detects the output from an infrared sensor and a temperature sensor, and compares food temperature according to the output of the infrared sensor with the temperature around the food by the output of the temperature sensor. The output of the infrared sensor is applied to a compensating equation to compensate the output deviation according to the infrared reflectivity when the temperature around the food is over the food temperature. The temperature by the operation of the compensating equation is output to the actual food temperature. The reliability of the product is improved by increasing the quality of food.
