PURPOSE: A filtering device for the fuel of a CNG(compressed natural gas) vehicle and a filtering method thereof are provided to increase purity of the CNG and to smoothly recover oil from the CNG. CONSTITUTION: An oil filtering device(16) comprises an oil filter(22) containing a gas input hole connected to a regulator, a gas output hole connected to a fuel distributing pipe, a filter for oil in gas and an oil discharge hole; an oil flux sensor(32) installed in the oil filter; and a driving device(34) opening or closing the oil discharge hole according to a vehicle state. The oil flux sensor senses the flux of oil and the oil discharge hole is opened when the flux is more than start flux and a vehicle stops with power. When the flux is less than final flux, the oil discharge hole is closed.
