PURPOSE: A perceiving range alarming method variably control a sensing range by separating the turning and the straight running of a vehicle by measuring the angle of the steering handle. CONSTITUTION: When a vehicle starts, whether a current state is a reverse or an advance is decided according to the inputting state of a reverse signal(7). If it is a reverse state, side sensors(S1,S2,S3,S6) are operated after the operation of rear sensors(S4,S5). If, it is an advance state, the side sensors(S1,S2,S3,S6) are operated. An angle of handle is calculated by a handle angle sensor(10). Then, whether the handle is rotated or not is decided. If the handle is not rotated, a short range perceiving is done. If the handle is rotated, the perceiving range is expanded according to the rotating direction of the handle. A perceived distance to an obstacle by the sensors(S1,S2,S3,S6,S4,S5) are compared with a predetermined distance value. If a collision is predicted, a buzzer(5) is operated.
